I see a notice on Filmmakers that the import from Spotlight has been deactivated. What does this mean?

Through Filmmakers, you have the option to activate the Spotlight Add-On. This will create a new profile for you on Spotlight. Similarly, Spotlight offers existing Spotlight Members the option to activate the Filmmakers Add-On through their Spotlight account, which in turn creates a new profile on Filmmakers.

If you already have an existing Filmmakers profile and an existing Spotlight profile, and you activate the Filmmakers Add-On in your Spotlight account, the following message will appear in your existing Filmmakers profile after logging in:

You have selected the Filmmakers Add-On on Spotlight. Data import from Spotlight is currently disabled because you manage your profile on Filmmakers yourself.

The reason is that the Filmmakers Add-On, which can be activated via Spotlight, is not compatible with an existing Filmmakers profile. In this case, Filmmakers automatically deactivates the data transfer (data import) from Spotlight to prevent your Filmmakers profile from being overwritten with data from your Spotlight profile.

In this case, we recommend that you deactivate the Filmmakers Add-On on Spotlight.
