How can I have the unexpected visibility of a video investigated?

It happens time and again that an actor or actress—for example, during a workshop—sees how a casting director can view their profile. This, of course, also includes which videos are visible to that particular casting director.

As a general rule: Self-tapes are stored in the casting director's system and are therefore not subject to the visibility settings set by actors. Actors can control the visibility of their profile videos for casting directors.

Sometimes actors and actresses overlook the fact that, even though they don't publicly display a video in their showreel on their profile, they have still made it visible to casting directors—either through the video settings or as a link to a talent profile or a credit.

If you feel that one of your videos is visible when it shouldn't be, we can put your mind at ease. Not only are the settings highly precise and technically isolated from one another, but they are also continuously monitored by the system to ensure that new features do not accidentally compromise them. So rest assured: the system is secure and reliable when it comes to visibility settings.

We'd be happy to show you how this works using your example. To do so, please contact our support team at support@filmmakers.eu and let us know which video you're referring to and what you'd like to understand. Please also let us know where the video was visible: on the public Filmmakers profile or in a casting director's system. In the latter case, we'll also need the name of the casting director in question.

The visibility processes are tested automatically. With the information you provide, we can also review the specific case.
